Nice video. The jetty site looks like maybe south of the jetty in Florence. I am not an ocean kiter, so I really don't know the sites. They are not secret. It would be easy to find out on the NW kite forum. If you visit the Gorge July or especially August, it can be a good alternative if there is no wind in the Gorge. If a "heat low" moves up from Calif. and shuts down the wind in the Gorge, it is usually then blowing at the coast. It is very unpredictable when this will happen, but generally late August. The catch is the video makes it seem like you can camp just anywhere. No, the sites are restricted and the campgrounds generally full of non-kiters. Hard to make a reservation way ahead when you have no idea if there will be wind at that time. Nice video though.

I believe that is Florence with the Suislaw River in the background. There are three similar places that I know of but Florence is the only one I remember that you can drive out onto the (south) jetty. We used to camp there. Pretty sure the second one is Pistol River, but it's been ages since I've been down there.

Oh, and on the Oregon coast it's always winter... ;-)
