BENICIA KITEBOARDERS....ALERT!

Post by BeniciaWind » Wed Nov 19, 2014 8:59 pm

The city of Benicia, in it's infinite wisdom, has installed a cemented in bench in the exact spot where we launch our kites. Unless this is moved we are going to have a real challenge launching. Anyone have any ideas on how to get this moved? Friends on city council?

Get Paula Deen to sit on it.
Then she can probably give you a launch afterwards.

This really sucks, They graded the ramp which is better but bench is in bad spot for sure, Sad thing is bench is dedicated to a young woman who died of cancer, her husband is a cool guy. I know some people who work for the city but I'm not bringing it up out of respect {}[]

It literally appeared in 2 days. No signs, nothing.

Guess we need to launch our kites a bit hotter now.

If it is within 100 feet of the water it might require a BCDC permit.
But I suggest some locals call the park administrater and explain the problem .
And ask them to relocate the bench.

It is necessary to obtain a BCDC permit prior to undertaking most work in the Bay or within 100 feet of the shoreline, including filling, dredging, shoreline development and other work. There are several different types of permit applications, depending on the size, location, and impacts of a project.
