Re: Toll Plaza Beach Sensor!
Leo,
I have already cleaned all the trash from the proposed sensor site and now I am meeting with the wind alert installation expert this Friday am to review the site and lock in the installation details of the project. I will keep you all informed as to the progress.
BTW TP has been windy and ridable for 15 of the past 30 days of Sep, but we have only seen 4-5 kiters come out over the last month (usually only 1 or 2 at a time!), having the beach to ourselves is nice but it sucks for the others that show up and don't know how to self launch!

Re: Toll Plaza Beach Sensor!
Met with Stuart from Wind Alert last Friday and surveyed the sensor location and determined the best placement. We are looking at installation at some point in the next 2 months so just in time for the N Winter winds! TP is a great side on launch on a Winter North wind!

Re: Toll Plaza Beach Sensor!
Happy Holidays to all!
Okay great news!
Thanks to the Windalert team we can now announce the new Toll Plaza Beach sensor is live and reporting on wind alert.
Being shallow and flat (esp on an ebb) makes this is absolutely one of THE BEST freestyle/wakestyle beach launches in the bay so come down dingle dangle and get tindy with it!
The sensor is located at the north end of the beach so as to provide a realistic on shore reading!
It was misnamed "Toll Bridge Plaza" but who cares since it's the data not the name that matters!
It is only on Windalert and ikitesurf etc.
Today the tides are good and the sensor is showing 20+ side on from the NW!
We hope to see more kiters at the beach this coming season now that we have this awesome resource!
Please remember to rig away from all power lines and up wind (north end of the beach) on any N on-shore days and downwind from them on south days..So that means launching from the sand and not from the ice plant near the parking area. So don't kook out with the power lines-towers, please use the sandy beach to launch your kite safely! Also please know that most days the water is very shallow there so if you get stuck out side with no wind simply stand up and secure your lines and walk in! Over the years we have seen many newbies to the spot drift for hrs downwind into the cove when they could have simply stood up right away and walked back to the beach through shallow water.
Please feel free to contact me at KGB if you have any questions regarding this spot as we are fully dialed in here.
Thanks again to all involved and see you at TP soon...shred on!
