as the stupid Dakine seat harnesses are the only parts of my equipment which fail regularly after about one year - or better said just AFTER one year - I am fed up with it as in all three cases most of the harness is still in excellent condition just in some areas they cut costs by having the structural support line not fully running through the harness. They rip out after some time. Clearly not worth the the $200 full retail I pay for them every time. But I like how they fit - thats the dilemma.
Any other recommendation from a high quality supplier with a good fit?

Not exactly a seat harness, but I recently got the Ion B2 boardshorts and it is very comfortable and from what I read lasts longer than the Dakine.

Underwave seat harness we have been carrying is super nice. Comfortable. NO frills. Nice build.

I moved from the Dakine Nitrous to the ProLimit Kite Seat Pro about 3 years ago and have not looked back. Not sure who locally may carry it as I purchased it when traveling in Oregon. Super comfortable, works great with the stock prolimit spreader bar or any dakine spreader bar but is perfect when used with the Jay Dynabar I got from http://www.kitenaked.com.

+1 For boardshorts. I've been using rock climbing harness for years, so I really familiar with and like that feel.
I'm using 2009 LF Boardshorts with Dynabar v7 dyneema that I've got from Chris@kitenaked.com
I tried Dakine Nitrous, Ion B2 (just the fit and hang on hook, not in water) and decided to buy LF 'cause 69$ on closeout.
If you are 28-32'' in a waist you can get one here: http://www.kitepaddlesurf.com/2009-Liqu ... 098106.htm
From my limited testing Nitrous spreader bar is in the lowest position from all 3 and I didn't like that.
Ion B2 spreader bar position is just a tiny bit lower than LF one so should be good, B2 build quality is awesome.
LF boardshorts are most simple from all three and might be not that tough. If they fail in a season or two I might try B2.
Another good point for LF boardshorts is that by removing the bar (just 10 sec process to undo 2 wide webbing) they look like nice boardshorts.
New version of Liquid Force Boardshort is the Liquid Force Styler Boardshort, should be better version of simple yet good one, but I do not like black/white stripes. BTW Styler was designed by local LF rep, check Adam's thread here: https://www.bayareakiteboarding.com/for ... 37&t=11581

Re: seat harness recomendations ?
I haven't had problems with my older DaKine seat but then again I go back and forth between that and two DaKine Renegade waist (well, chest, really, as they slide like greased pigs). I had a favorite DaKine windsurfing harness (well, two, as I bought a spare when they discontinued) and had several breakages due to plastic wear. DaKine was always very good about support and fixed them for free long after they needed to, so I hope you've contacted them and expressed your displeasure. They designed out that flaw based on my feedback. Haven't needed to deal with them for years now, though, and I beat up their luggage on flights weekly. I won't say their harnesses are stellar but I will say their customer service has been great in years past. Good luck!

I've never had much luck with the longevity of their seat harnesses. I keep going back because they fit me so well, but the leg loops always rip off. Luckily I have a sewing machine I can fix them on, but I'm still not sure why I keep going back.
