Drought and it's effects on wind?

Given all the news this week about a lack of winter here in California, I thought I'd start a thread about what this might mean for wind this coming Spring and Summer.

Any budding meteorologists out there wanna chime in? What will the drought do to our "Normal" wind expectations?

The two previous long droughts I've experienced in California were quite windy on the coast and in the central valley, but those were in the days when I despised the wind.
This current drought really started last year in January, and I'm predicting this year will be epic like last year and maybe even better.

I don't really know but two (or three?) years ago when there was an epic snowpack all the way into August the snow reflects sunlight so Central Valley temps were lower which impacted the thermal winds negatively.

So since the opposite is true this year I'm thinking it could have a positive impact as previously stated.

Although we are missing out on our normal southerly clearing winds. If we don't get a good south wind at HMB this year I will be bummed.

I bet it's going to be brackish water too. For the first time I'll be having to rinse my gear of salt from the delta. :(

I drove through Rio Vista today and across Sherman Island. Maybe I'm just unfamiliar with the "normal" winter conditions up there, but I couldn't believe how much stuff was floating in the water...

I would imagine a drought rising the temperature inland therefore augmenting the thermal effect during the summer.
But I agree with the previous comment: no southerly storm = no clearing wind technically. _>:<
I'm sooooo glad I started surfing in September: gets me my water fix for the winter months!
