Origin of the Aliaia board trend

This type of board started showing up about a year ago in kite articles and advertisements. This article sheds light on where this trend originated:

The Seaglass Tuna is on closeout from GSI. I recommend having an alaia and a Tuna in your quiver, if you like a skatey, 4 wheel slide, feel. Recommend a full deck pad on the Tuna for kiting.

The two aussies are certainly not the "originator" of this trend. Just another example, Board Riding Maui have featured their own Alaia/Paipo's in all of their videos...
