Ear Plugs (revisited)

I've read the old threads. Looking for current opinions.

Yesterday I stuffed a landing and slapped the water pretty good. I got lucky and didnt blow an ear but it hurt, and i actually wondered if I might be bleeding out of my ear (I wasn't).

It's time to buy some custom plugs. From what I can tell surfplugs and westone seem to be the ones to get.

I was wondering what general current opinion here might be about the two? Any specific reason to choose one over the other?

Did you see this thread? Some of the posts on the bottom of page 1 and all of page 2 are relatively recent...

The Barracuda plugs seem to be highly recommended.;-)

Barracuda all the way for me. I went back to Sports Basement an bought two more pairs. At $4 a pair I can have plenty of spares floating around in the car. I still forget to put them in sometimes, not sure how to fix my aging brain into remembering them.
