windstoked wrote:Thanks, Sloughslut. Kiting Montezuma Slough might not be a first after all. If you can kite there and back from Sherman, it makes that downwinder a bit anticlimactic also.
Any other good ideas for a downwinder in the Delta?
Crissy to Rio Vista... oh wait Greg already did that!

That about covers the delta.

I want to go from Ocean Beach to the Highway 5 overpass near Sacramento. it is possible.

Sounds epic, kitenaked: Benicia-Buckler-Sherman. We're in!
Plan it for an ebb tide so the swell is good and the ride lasts longer, then hope the wind cooperates.

F it. I'm rigging up right now and heading for La Ventana. If I leave Santa Cruz now I'll be there in time to see 'yall there in January. The sea of cortez upwind run will be a little tough but everything else is downwind.

It's pretty simple you guys. If ya want to do the down winder from grizzly bay just get 4 confident kiters that can pitch in some money for fuel and contact him. There's still a lot to be discovered out there. Kiting is free but getting to your launch isn't :). Yes I've done it and I'll do it again :)
