check out the launch area in 2004/2005...so much space we used to teach land lessons in the large sandy beach in front of the shack! and the kite "parking lot" north of the shower in 2005 (pic 2), and how much beach went beyond the shower...

Wow. Alameda is vanishing into the sea. Maybe it needs more Dutch.

What ever happened to that multi million $ beach renovation that was already supposed to happen? That is a big part of it. I love the cluster fuck. It gives me some pylons to carve around. As long as the kites don't crash on me I'm ok with close proximity kite lovin. I honestly don't see an answer. We can't put it all on Lmg and Charlie anymore. If we can't self police(which we clearly can't) then we will watch this same thing over and over. We're all guilty of being overly impulsive when the winds kick up. Rat race!

Some of the guide we came up with years ago still holds true today

and if we land up wind of the shower it could help with getting kites up in the l/z
And or down from the shack by the antenna

Learn to rig your lines from behind the kite in the luanch position

No parking your kite in the L/Z
Dont pump up your kite in the L/Z .
Dont run your lines in the L/Z in your street clothing..
Drag out to 200 feet to water start especially if you're a newbie
Do not bust trick in front if the L/Z.
And here's a new one
Don't come in front of the L/z except to land
No fake out's
And if you think shellgste is a better option
There is no defined launch Land zone and no one defends the luanch and land zone
And joe public is parked all over the place.
