I know you guys all want to help, but some of you come off as overbearing and arrogant too, it's not just me, and I have to respond to your comments by being assertive over your incorrect assumptions, otherwise other people get the wrong impression.

Thanks to those who actually responded to the original post. Seems like the ATB system would be easier to use in the water and I have some possible solutions to the handles/plastics parts flailing issue hitting the hands in full depower.

I prefer ATB for all the reasons mentioned. I tend to adjust the trim on each tack if I'm making long reaches out and back to get to the top of the lineup. I find that my riding position varies a little depending on the direction I'm riding. It's not a power management thing but more a comfortable position thing. That is, after all, what the trim strap is actually for. Your bar throw should provide max depower, with the trim strap just adjusting that to a position that is comfortable.

As for newbs trying to learn the sport from forums, I can understand since I tend to absorb as much info as I can from as many sources as I can. If you look back at MY early posts I likely came off sort of like the OP. However, I can say now that nothing makes up for hours on the water and 'book learnin' only takes you a short distance. So to all y'all noobs out there, get 'yer lessons and pay your dues. You can shorten the learning curve but ya CAN'T skip it.

Peace out.

True that!!

But seriously, usually the coast. The usual suspects, Wadell, Scott, other points unnamed. :-)

And when it's on, 'Front Yards'. Come on down and join!
