Windy Sunday- Where To Go?

Post by troybo13 » Sun May 05, 2013 8:12 am

Big old south wind is a blowing.
Suggestions on best location to kite?
I am thinking OB but will check 3rd Ave first.

3rd will not work today - gusty offshore winds.

What he said.
OB downwinder from sloat to kelly's cove.
HMB harbor butter water, but I wouldn't go on a sunday. it gets too easily crowded.
Marina bay fun session behind the sand bar.
Alameda, on a south is sooooo much fun. And probably the safest spot for somebody who wants to go out on south wind for the first time (It's usually a little more gusty than our nice thermals).

I'll be at work all day, hope everybody get some! :::)

What time do you think will be the best bet for Alameda? It's showing 6mph W average right now.

impossible to know, but some time after noon would be a good bet.

Also, look for the USS hornet sensor for alameda. The beach sensor is useless on a south wind.

Thanks for the replies!

Anyone going out today? The wind outside my house in Palo Alto sounds like it's picking up, but everywhere I look the wind readings seem different and not that good.. Which begs the question, am I looking in the right places?

Where do you look for Half Moon Bay?

Ikitesurf membership.
Forget about third ave on south, it's off shore.
