We were hiking with our dogs at the top of Montebello Road yesterday and could see the marine surge coming through the gap. I thought about grabbing my gear and coming up but had unexpected business to attend to. Today on my morning bike ride there is plenty of warm south flow down here in the south bay; I suspect the marine layer has dissipated and we're in for the high pressure system in the forecast. (Heck, you can see south winds at the buoys and east winds in the interior here: http://windonthewater.com/link.htm?r=ca ... 615662&z=9). We're heading for the north coast for a few days to stay cool...

Yep.. the collision worked out well today.. Crissy was about the most perfect you could ask for. BUTTTTER flat almost the whole afternoon and an extremely steady wind that lasted until well past sundown.. Doesn't get much better

Cool weather blog, I guess we take a lot of the forecast info for granted. For myself, I may be able to look at a couple sources online, what I see outside, and a few cams but to survey everything on a daily basis and digest it into a forecast medium with some level of reliability is pretty cool.

Berkeley was good till the warm air started to win the battle against the marine surge.
Big holes in wind sent me back to the beach. Glad I didn't have to swim.
Some unfortunate soul played with the holey wind too long, dropped his kite and couldn't relaunch right near the beach.
I watched for a bit then waded in the water with my clothes on to try to save kite but I was too late...
Ended up with his kite on the rocks ripped to shreds just yards from the sand.
Sorry bro thought you were going to make it

What are you using to map your sessions?

Wasn't so butter flat after 6pm. Still it was a good session. I thought I'd pumped my 11m but when I landed realized it was a 9m.... Guess it was windy!
