Turn used Gear into Dreams

Putting the word out. I am looking for used “worn out” gear to take to a small village in NE Brazil (Barra de Cunhau) I was kitting there in March. The kids are so stoked on kitting. Some of them have wasted equipment and still rip. I would like to return this August with a few kites , bars harnesses etc to donate to the village.
I have a small budget of my own to work with ($1,000) so I cant afford $500 kites. BUT if you have any used gear that has little or no value in the US would you consider donating or selling cheaply Ill take it. The condition really doesn’t matter. The top rider there shreds on a 2006 Nash that has 24” long repairs and only holds air for 25 minutes!

Thanks for your consideration. Eric 707 937-4503

I will never forget being down there in Brazil and seeing some local kid SHRED it better than most pros do. He was on an ancient kite and he literally would stop every 10 minutes to go pump up his 6m kite again. He and his buddy took turns kiting and then pumping up the kite.
Nice idea Eric!!

This is a totally great idea.

I have a 4 meter, 4-line Advance kite with bar and short lines. I've never gotten it to fly quite right, but if you want it, I'd love to see it get used by someone - even if it's used as a big trainer kite.

PM me if you're interested.

Thanks guys. Loscocco...you've got it right. I bet those boys did it all with a big grin on their faces. In someways Brazilians are true Buddhists. There are so many things wrong that they cant dwell. They live for the moment, and laugh at the rest.
I followed up on the first kite I sent this morning. Behind the sound of muffled wind over the cell phone were screams of excitement from the kid. "thank you, thank god thank christmass...on and on". Made it all wroth it.

WindMuch. Thanks, I will PM you later..Im on the road today.

Unreal people. The response has been great. Im taking the gear down in August.

I think we will have a whole village of shredders in a couple of years! I have plans with a Dutch ex-pat in Barra do Cunhau who will set up a depository for the gear. He is also an IKO instructor and will be teaching the kids that want to learn.

thanks again!

I have a ton of old gear some as old 2001....
Some need repair ....
2 kites in new condition 2004
Some are rippeed
Some have bad bladders
If you want your welcome to the hole enchilada
we just gotta figure out the logistics
Maybe 7 or so kites
3 or 4 bars

Awesome idea.

I've got two old Cab's, one 14m C kite that's ready to fly, and one well-used 2006 Switchblade 12m that needs a new strut bladder.

Eric,
I have 5 barely used Cabrinha CO2 Recons (8.5, 10, 12, 14, and 17) plus a 9m Access. I'd be happy to give them away but perhaps they are too old to be of any use?
