Something You Don't See

Yesterday at 3rd, around 5pm a guy lost connection with his kite and it was being taken away by the wind. He did not just eject the kite, when I went to rescue the kite, the bar was still connected to the harness. The guy was a hundred yards away from the kite by this time. I grabbed the harness with the kite hovering in the bayside wind window, had my kite on the opposite side and experienced a nice tug of war between the two kites.
All ended well with a few guys helping to corral the kite so the guy could walk it to shore in the low tide.
No idea how he ejected from the seat harness.
Just another day at 3rd. >K($

Did you bring his harness in to shore after that? When I was launching someone dropped off a harness at the water's edge.

I walked it up to the beach before going out.

I thought that seemed like a very strange item to be rescuing.

I've seen that before... harness just rips right on off! Been a while though, hope to not see it again. Some of the older model harnesses don't securely connect to the spreader bar enabling them to become completely unattached. It’s actually your last resort of rescue to take your harness off if you get wrapped up in a bad situation
