If I had to have only 3, 7,9,12. A two kite quiver is tough around here. I don't miss to many days on my 7,9,11,14 quiver!!

6,8,10.5 and I am set. Having to use a 12m means I should probably be surfing or biking.

I'm 175 lbs
5, 7, 9 in the spring to early summer
7, 9, 11 in summer to early fall
mostly riding my 9.

twin tip, skim board and surfboard, which ever is appropriate at the time

Maybe you're better at forecasting than me! But if you've already committed, driven to the water and it's lighter than expected, having a big kite is pretty nice sometimes...

Agree with the 6,8,10,14 quiver and skipping the 12m.

i have the 2013 Ozone Catalyst for was in 6,8,10,14 and it works amazing. I have the 14m Catalyst for sale sine i have the 13m and 17m Edge too and when it gets too light for the 10m and surfboard its probably better to go race boarding anyway.

it could also depend on the kite. some are rangier. i'm getting a lot of use out of a 2012 10m cabrinha switchblade.

if the wind is a little light i use a big board while others are on 12s.

8.5 on windier days. haven't had a chance to use the 7m.

My old man, who can afford whatever he wants, originally bought the 6, 9, 14 quiver. He later added the 12 and then the 4.5 completing the ultimate set. He found the 14 quickly lit him up and that it wasn't as fun as the 12 in surf. I'll tell you though that 9m can be ridden from 15-35 and overlap all those kites.

All these things are true!! You can ride a 9m in just about anything...BUT... I do find that sessions are way more enjoyable if the wind speed is well matched to my kite. I feel like its a case of the old "just because you can, doesn't mean you should" thing. I've been overpowered on my 14m and underpowered on smaller kites, but those magic sessions seem to happen when I'm just powered enough.

Then again, it all costs money. If you can only own a couple of kites, ride what ya brung. :-)
