Re: Days on the water Nov -> Feb?Having a flexible schedule is key to maximizing days in the winter. Right Fred?
Re: Days on the water Nov -> Feb?I'm glad to see I'm not the only geek who keeps a kite session log. November thru end of February for me was 28 days. All on the coast between HMB and Monterey, all on directionals, and most on either 7M or 12M kite. I guess there's not a lot of in between in the winter!
I'll add one more comment to Ramsey's - it's both location (I live on the coast) and flexibility of schedule that creates the opportunities for me. Brian
Re: Days on the water Nov -> Feb?Damn all you guys are beach bums! I'm jealous. I don't get anything nearly close to those numbers. I got 4 days in that duration (average ONCE A MONTH for winter) for the last four years. I find that Dec and Jan are the most difficult. Work and Kiting don't go well together. IN PERSPECTIVE, I got more days in this week than all of winter! YeeHaw!

Re: Days on the water Nov -> Feb?Bottom line: it has been an incredible winter/spring for kiting in the surf....and surfing in the surf.

![]() I encourage you to continue dangling in flat/dirty water, keeping the lineup a little less crowded. Get sum, Z

Re: Days on the water Nov -> Feb?One key note about winter sessions that might be completely obvious:
Wind in the winter typically lasts for 2-4 hours only except on the odd clearing wind day when it nukes from dawn to dusk. Sunset is early, and it's no fun kiting in the dark in December or January. This winter many of my 15 or so sessions were from 11 am. to 1 pm., which was when the wind shut off. Flexible schedule is definitely a necessity. Paul
aka Pablito It says 10M, but it's really a 9.
Re: Days on the water Nov -> Feb?
Yes, even being self-employed, requirements like that pretty much eliminate many winter sessions... ![]()
Re: Days on the water Nov -> Feb?
I do take it back. Went surfing this morning with a friend at OB and I must admit, THIS SH#T IS A LOT OF FUN AS WELL. ![]() Kites: 2017 F-One Bandit: 8m. 2017 F-One Breeze 11m.
