I pulled the forecast graph from ikitesurf's new site WIND ALERT....

RE: John Lindsay, not sure who John Doe is but I find Lindsay's report to be more than 50% accurate (maybe not total wind speeds but we do have wind), just like NWS/NOAA forecasts AS LONG AS TEMPS STAY BELOW 75 at beaches and inland 85. And as disclaimer I have been chasing wind locally for almost 20 years from Santa Barbara to Big Sur for paragliding and now kiteboarding:-)

Here is Noaa forecast as of today for Piedras Blancas to Point Sal out 10 nautical miles to even things out...

THU
NW WINDS 15 TO 25 KT WITH GUSTS TO 30 KT. COMBINED SEAS 7 TO
10 FT DOMINANT PERIOD 12 SECONDS.

THU NIGHT
NW WINDS 20 TO 30 KT...BECOMING 15 TO 20 KT WITH LOCAL
GUSTS TO 25 KT AFTER MIDNIGHT. COMBINED SEAS 8 TO 11 FT DOMINANT
PERIOD 11 SECONDS.

FRI
NW WINDS 5 TO 15 KT. WIND WAVES 2 FT OR LESS. NW SWELL 9 FT
AT 11 SECONDS.

FRI NIGHT
NW WINDS 10 TO 20 KT...BECOMING 5 TO 15 KT AFTER
MIDNIGHT. WIND WAVES 2 TO 3 FT. NW SWELL 9 FT. PATCHY FOG AFTER
MIDNIGHT.

SAT
NW WINDS 10 TO 20 KT WITH GUSTS TO 25 KT. WIND WAVES 2 TO
4 FT. NW SWELL 7 TO 9 FT. PATCHY FOG.

SUN
NW WINDS 15 TO 25 KT. COMBINED SEAS 7 TO 9 FT. PATCHY FOG.

It should also be noted that according to Kinsley it has blown 100% on his birthday which is Saturday April 13! It is just me that was switching dates/months around when we have had freak rain storms or high pressure. From now on, Pismo KiteXpo will always happen around Kinsley's B'day:-)

It's rideable with a 10/12 here in Pismo this afternoon.

Any wave riding spot recommendations to hit on the way down to Pismo with less onshore winds? Arroyo Laguna, San Simeon, Piedras Blancas, Pico Creek?

I've kited Arroyo Laguna and its usually quite side shore and really fun with some swell...

Keithdkd: I trust you saw the forecast Marina just posted in another thread?

I couldn't imagine the forecast looking much better unless they said "and we've added new artificial reefs to make the waves peel instead of closing out"
