Do NOT eat the Swedish meatballs at ikea!
They look yummy on the poster board, but taste like cardboard

thx.

Ben
I have been kiting there regularly for 3 years now these are my observations.
Ben for real time readings you need to first get an ikitesurf/windalert discounted membership:http://www.ikitesurf.com/services.iws?referrerID=107160

Then use the real time info from other sensors, port of oakland, oakland berth(need to show 11-13+) , TI and Berkely(need to show 18-20+). There is no TP sensor. Wind fills in fine inside most days but on some low tides you will need to walk out a small way to the wind line.
This info as well as tide info and directions are in the previously mentioned KGB link #oakland and #tpbeach.

Most everyday is SW during the summer, the best direction and TP will usually match the port sensors for direction regardless what direction Berkely is showing. West works but is not ideal as sometimes there are holes with the west. Light winds from true South will not work. North and NW is only mostly in the winter and early in the season works fine but not ideal, hazards etc.

It has been windy at TP for some point everyday now since April13th!
We are there almost everyday and can help anyone launch and land.
It will be windy there until early August then will turn outside more.

Cya at the beach. BUMP

thanks Royce, great info.

I'm already on ikitesurf.

I'll come and check it out ASAP. I was at Alameda yesterday, in the light wind, was actually pretty fun with my new North Evo kite.... love it!

See ya there...

Toll Plaza could use a beach cleanup, but other than that, it's looking good and no reports of anything afoul so far...

Today was good and windy - 8m, yay

TP this afternoon 5/13? Or will it be Point Emory coming off a 5ft high tide? I'm hoping for TP but would appreciate anyone's thoughts on the WSW and W wind forecast.

I can see both TP and Point Emery from my office window.

No kites out at either and the wind doesn't look to have picked up yet. We'll see if that changes in the next hour or two.
