So I've spent all winter and what we have of Spring so far working and riding the hell of of my mountain bike on awesome rides but haven't had any kites yet this year. Guess what? They're coming Thursday!

I hear some of my friends have been getting in some good sessions at Berkeley lately and I've seen some vehicles there and I even saw some kites out on the water through my polarized shades while astride my bike on Grizzly Peak a few days ago. I know most of you guys here don't care, but 3k feet of elevation on an 18 mi. ride with tons of singletrack is pretty awesome. But kiting's fun too!

Other friends have been kiting constantly every weekend on the coast with good reports too.

Stoked to get some new gear and get on the water soon. *bg& |}{+ *&$#

Am I really the first to get to say: "Welcome Back Ollie!"?

I rode my bike to the Berkeley library on Friday. I ride on the Bay Trail and pass Point Emery---since I saw a bunch of kiters, I stopped to check it out and do some launching. After several of my kiteboarding pals asked the same question ("Why aren't you here geared up and ready to ride??!"), I took the hint and showed up with my kites on Sunday.

I love my bike, but if there's wind, it's no contest. :-)

Merry Christmas, Ollie! (I'm referring to Thursday when you unwrap your new kites). =D>

Yea, It's sometimes a tough decision for me to go kiting or go ride my bike. Ususally kiting wins because the trials are always there, but the wind is not. I just upgraded my mountain bikes (SS & geared) to a tune of about $10k and it re-ignited my passion to ride, but now the windy season is picking up I can see these bikes hanging on the wall more. Oh well, it's good to have options...
