Do you think it would be possible to factor age into it?

No way, you would then get a better rank than Ollie himself.

We will have to come up with some metrics to sort things, but a quick look reveals the earliest registered user with the highest post count to be:..... Windhorny aka Yuri...

Or is it Greg, you decide:

Windhorny: Post count:4011
Joined: Mon 11 Jul, 2005 12:47 pm
Last Active: Sat 25 Aug, 2012 12:34 pm

Greg: Post Count:3509
Joined: Fri 05 Mar, 2004 6:45 pm
Last Active: Sat 22 Dec, 2012 9:26 am

It seems like if you come up with an average by dividing total posts by years active you'd come up with a number that creates a rank based on total posts & history...
vBulletin, a commercial forum package has a system based on "Reputation" which is based on positive and negative "Rep" which rates a user based on how useful, helpful, positive or negative other users feel they are. Too late for that here and probably doesn't matter much anyway...

And to these rankings do we add or subtract points for high values on the BS-O-Meterâ„¢?

I like the idea of the rankings being related to a positive vibe. Can we also take into account the individual's vibe on the beach and in the water?

"Thanks for launching me (safely). I'll put in a good word for your standings on BAK"

or

"Dude, you burned me so heavily on that wave. Your ranking on BAK just went down!"

I smell a "BAK Mobile Ranking" app here...

(grin)

That could be a problem though: you would get good point from you friends for carpooling to Waddell but get bad point from the Waddell crew for carpooling.

Those aren't "Rankings" Vincent, those are "Spankings"...

Hey! There's the name of the mobile app right there: "BAK Rank & Spank"

I can't think of a better ranking for a guy in the prune business, John!

ok, back to this,

Current (boring) ranks are structured as follows (ranks with corresponding posts needed):

Joey 1
Contributor 10
Valued Contributor 65
Regular 300
Resident 650
Old School 1000

Does anyone want to brainstorm some ranks and come up with some ideas? Factor in some of the other things we've been talking about...
