You are indeed. What I should do is base the ranks on multiple criteria, i.e. as it stands now X amount of posts will create various ranks, but this was something I implemented a while back and it's pretty basic. It should be cross-referenced with the date when users first registered (in your case, 2005!) and not be based on posts alone but take into account other criteria as well, which is an opportunity to create new 'special' ranks. So even if someone posts constantly, their date of registration would never let them reach certain ranks, which in a way is fair too, as it's based on more than just posts, but history/seniority as well. *(

Is that even possible with phpBB?

There are a few User Ranks Mods for phpbb that are pretty robust, but it may easier for me to look up users and sort by various criteria and assign custom ranks manually. Good task for a rainy morning with some coffee. The cool thing is that it can sort our users somewhat and show some history and trends which can be translated into ranks.

I'd like to post how the ranks are currently structured and get some feedback on how new custom ranks can be structured.
