Saturday OB Downwinder

Post by buckidge » Thu Sep 20, 2012 9:14 am

Forecast looks like Saturday might be another good day at the Coast with NW winds (as of now, but who knows what will change).

If the forecast holds, anyone (perhaps more experienced OB riders...) want to do a downwinder on Saturday? I've never done one there but in poking around these boards it sounds like Cliff House to Sloat is the way to go.

[And to the beginners reading this getting geeked thinking about doing a downwinder... Sorry, OB (Ocean Beach) is not a great place to get your first taste of wave riding.]

Thoughts?

My thought on that is if you guys didn't post so much about OB on this forum (4 threads now??) you might have locals actually inviting you along on their downwinders

Be safe out there & have a good weekend

This forum is my connection to the "locals" as I'm just starting to get there more often myself.

A local to invite you! Bwaaahahhaaaa

Downwinders aren't that great on a NW, its basically a tack down the beach. Southerlies is where the downwinders are at!

Aloha, you're guilty of posting on these OB threads... you have a point though.

yeah, nobody knows about OB......total secret spot.......

fortunately it'll kick your ass hard enough that it is an automatic crowd limiter

that and the vicious seagulls, seals, sharks and penguins.......I was joking about alligators being out there in some of my other posts.......

But seriously........south wind days can be good but since those are typically storm winds, it is usually pretty gusty and........the surf can be ginormous.

Caution advised. I'll stop saying that.........endless repetition......

Paul it might make even more sense to call it OBK and we can just have every thread be about OB and hyping OB and the conditions today or this weekend at OB and moving to OB and demo days at OB and carpools to OB and putting together downwinders at OB and I don't even ride at OB but the conditions look great today so hey you should go check out OB

NCK you are right about that, but as mentioned it's just something to keep in mind (image FBO Kyle ^^ )

The demo was at multiple locations. That doesn't count!
And OB looked great again today. 8)
But I agree Phil, somebody should hack OB-KC and put the whole thing down.
Like that only people living in the avenues will ride there. We deserve it. 8)
