OB Wednesday...

I'm working near Presdio and am thinking I'll go kite OB after work tomorrow... It's been a while, is there anything I should know? Will there be anyone there to launch me? What size should I bring?

Ollie, most people hanging out at the cliff house.
Were at least 15 of us today in the water and people coming and going.
You'll definitely have somebody to launch you.
No swell though, it looked like lake Michigan today.
Size, anything between 6 and 10.
Kites: 2020 F-One Bandit: 10m.
Board: 2018 F-One Slice 5'1 Surf/Foil convertible
Harness: Manera Union.
Wetsuit: Manera 5/4 X10D

It came up around 3:15pm today and took a while to really build into solid 10m weather. Initially a few folks had trouble staying upwind. Once it filled it, the wind was pretty solid.

And PLENTY of folks on it. You'll have no problem getting a launch.

Looks like it's still on out there!

Can I talk about fight club if I'm not good enough to come to fight club?

There are documented sightings of great white sharks at OB. Use good judgement and discretion during Sharktember and Sharktober, especially if you go strapless and are swimming a lot.

Ridiculous currents and I think there are alligators out there too. And vicious penguins. Nasty nasty birds.

I had a seal bite my arm out there once, too. People think they're so cute.......but their beady little eyes are just creepy, especially when they're a foot from your face........

You guys are funny, and so helpful too. It makes me feel bad that my post was actually a hoax, ala April 1... |}{+ But no one got it... *&HN

Today kiting there was fine after work and then around 7, no traffic on the way home.

Did anybody else see the penguins massing on the outside last night? Frightening.....

They didn't get me but I was attacked by a seagull.

I felt one of my lines do this weird bump and looked up to see an adolescent gull doing the equivalent of a drunken stumble in the air......he was ok but I've never had that happen before.....

That was right after I almost ran over Ollie........

OB.......lookout.......it's wild........
