Strapless jumping question.

Hello everyone, This is a question to the few guys I have been seeing in Sherman Wadell and 3rd ave doing the strapless back roll .
i can jump decent with or without grab. And half of the time can land heel to toeside with a grap, etc. I have been working on the rolls. For me the roll without the grab is out of the question just doesnt stay on my foot.
So with the back roll With the grab İ get so close to finishing the rotation usually end with a kite loop. So everything legit but at the last second usually everything goes wild. And usually if I try to go higher the board eventually slips off. i feel like I m close it but cant seem to land it. what am I doing wrong.
i was wondering if any of those guys I saw landing it smooth can help a Turk out.?
