This is what an awesome fall session at Crissy looks like.
Perfectly powered on my Ocean Rodeo 8m Razor and 5'7 surfboard. Good times!
2 tacks up to the bridge on an ebb... big airs under the bridge and followed 2 tourist ferries wakes downwind :)

Looks like the perfect session. Was this Friday? Was out on a boat and heard a kiter frantically calling the CG about another kiter in trouble under the bridge. Hope he was OK.

Yeah that was Jeff calling for a guy who blew a panel out on his kite near the North Tower. You can see part of my tracks where i was circling around the guy before CG came.

9 rescued by the coast guard, number 10 rescued by a fishing boat and eight self rescues.

And others just sailed on home without getting there hair wet.

Great day out there but tricky comming back.

Crissy taught some hard lessons today.

Yesterday was my first time riding Crissy. Went with an uber-experienced friend and got off the beach around 4:30. Went out under the bridge towards black sand beach, then over towards Baker. So beautiful, big, surreal. I stayed out maybe 45 minutes to an hour and thanks to the posts on this forum ?I knew to...

1.) Take a hint when the main group tacked back towards shore and start heading downwind
2.) Stay outside until I was a little below Anita

Then I raced in as fast as I could, sining like crazy and doing my best to keep tension on the lines. When I lost planing speed I dropped in but kept kite up and kept body dragging as long as possible. Kite finally fell in maybe 100 yards from Anita. By the time I rolled up lines and flipped kite and swam in, I was a good 1/8 of a mile upwind of Anita with the ebb, and that ebb was mild. Grateful to have made it in. Great place to visit, but awfully high maintenance if the wind dies. I've got respect for the locals who make that place work regularly.
