With the inclusion of kiting in the Olympics and the popularity of racing, I believe the name will morph into kite sailing.

I'm learning to kiteboard so I can soon go kitesurfing. Bring on the great Pacific.

In the Bay or on lakes, kiteboarding

In the ocean with waves, kitesurfing

In the ocean on a flat day, saddly, kiteboarding again.

Parasurfing:

Only the best water sport around, a huge kite a modified wake board, kinda, and your off jumping 30ft and still landing softly awesome

I have to say, i did some wake skurfing behind a boat this weekend and it was awersome... we were riding a kitebord however.

You got to be in surf to be surfing. I'd make an exception for a sport of snow surfing in which one rides avalanches, though it may be more aptly named suicide boarding.

I'd definitely say TT riding is still surfing if it's out in the waves. If it doesn't in your eyes, what about the gray area of mutants/hybrids.

Same goes for the wind surfers vs. sail boarders. <- do they take offense to the space between words I wonder?
