Just there in June. The theft thing is real. Just lock up your stuff in your car and only take the essentials to the beach. Also picked up a water proof case at the local ABC store and carried my keys, ID and debt card with me and locked everything else in the car.
Be sure to check out the waterfalls on the Road to Hana. Worth the trip on a non-wind or rest day. Enjoy! I would go again but waiting for waves. Maybe this winter.

We kite up at Kanaha first then chill, lunch, etc.. Then kite our backyard in the late afternoon.

OK cool. I contacted Kapulanikai above and they are full. They do have room next door at Waiohuli Beach Hale. Did you happen to see that property when you were there? I think we will book there.kitenaked wrote:stewart wrote:Is this where you guys are staying this year? It looks like its got a beach, do you launch there or just head over to Kahana?

Re: Maui September 1-15
Last year i found a guy with a place on Craigslist that had a condo at menehune shores in Kihei. Think I paid $600 for Nine nights... pretty damn good deal. Not to shabby either, nothing special but it had a full kitchen, beach, ocean view, and air conditioning.
Wish I was going, next year. My questions is when is the time of year to go for surf?

Stewart,
Waiohuli Beach Hale is a great place, I have stayed there as well. It is right next to our place. You can kite off the back yard there too. Short 2 -3 minute walk to our place on the beach...unless you stop at the "Irie River" on the way.... :)
I have a contact for rentals there as well, but it sounds like you are hooked up with Bridgitte. Go for the bottom floor...unit # 126 is the best...
