This was a great meeting discussing how the SFBA will be the all-encompassing representative group for all kiteboarders and boardsailors in the Bay Area. The SFBA is a long-established group with over 1,500 members and has established relationships and alliances with Bay Area parks, cities, coast guard, environmental groups, etc. to provide a unified voice to represent and protect your interests.

Peter Thorner, president of the SFBA was very receptive to input regarding kiters interests, needs and what we can do to support the SFBA. We're hoping to set up a couple of people from each riding site to act as point people representing those sites. (Delta, Marin, Crissy, Peninsula, Alameda, Berkeley & Marina Bay, etc.) The intent is to have people representing each site on behalf of the SFBA to be able to address local issues pertinent to those sites and to field any inquiries from local officials.

In addition, events and parties are being planned to bring everyone together, have a good time and show your support for the SFBA.

If you haven't already, please join the SFBA. Annual dues are $25. Currently you need to visit the site at www.sfba.org and print out a form and send in a check, but easier ways or joining online using Paypal and/or credit cards will be implemented soon.

More info to be posted soon.

Thanks,
